Donor Opportunities and Services"MRG is here for the long haul. It is here to find and
fund the groups that are willing to nurture a base of activists to find their
voice. It is here to expand the base of funding so these groups can focus more
on the hard work of building relationships that motivate Oregonians and less on
the pursuit of basic resources." IntroductionIn the United States, money is power. Concentrated in the hands of an elite few, it maintains inequity. Directed to those who seek to transform this system, it represents an awesome force for change. The success of grassroots organizing depends on individuals in Oregon making a commitment to invest, consistently and generously, in change. Hundreds of Oregonians use the McKenzie River Gathering Foundation (MRG Foundation) as their vehicle for making this investment. MRG Foundation unites individual visions of what is possible with the organizations that make those concepts a reality. When you give to MRG Foundation, your gift joins with many others to create a significant financial resource that will foster progressive organizing throughout the entire state. MRG Foundation donors support the work of the foundation, and the organizations we fund, with annual contributions ranging from $5 to $50,000. Each gift is important and helps to build a lasting movement for positive and fundamental social change. People give to MRG Foundation for many reasons. It is an opportunity to provide seed money to emerging groups and issues. MRG Foundation's activist grantmaking committee provides a pool of informed, decision-making expertise second to none and MRG Foundation's staff monitors all funded projects. Donors may maintain total anonymity, and can support many important projects with one gift. Each year MRG Foundation distributes approximately $500,000 in grants. If you are interested in learning more about MRG Foundation and supporting progressive social change in Oregon, please contact our Development Director or see the Ways to Contribute or Donor Services sections.
