Social Change in Oregon

MRG's role as a funder with leaders drawn from across Oregon's social justice movement gives us a unique perspective on social change in Oregon. Here's what we're observing about Oregon's progressive movement.

I see a new day coming so full of promise and offering everyone the opportunity for full participation in the American dream.

As I move through spring, my thoughts are often on revitalization and renewal.  I find myself considering how much better I'd feel if I could have a say in where our tax money goes; to know that it's supporting change for the better.

Sharon writes, "Through the organizations MRG supports, I've seen the expansiveness and possibility of our movement here in Oregon. It's clear how it has the potential to change the landscape for social justice..."

"I celebrate the wealth of opportunities and events during Black History month, but I know we can do more to gain the full benefit of working together for racial justice."

Sharon reflects on why voting matters and shares Oregon ballot guides from grantees and allied organizations.

"It's in moments like these that I must remember our history, the alliances we've built, and the passionate organizing that is happening right now to confront oppression and injustice..."
